Celeb Sightings

I know it is kinda silly, but I'm sure we all do it...keep track of when and where we run into celebrities. It happens in NYC more often than I expected. There are a few cases when I have seen someone, but I wasn't sure if it was the actual person, or someone who looked just like them. I try to not stare too long. :)

Tonight when we left Crumbs Bake Shop with on the UWS (with "blackout" crumbs on our lips) Jerry Stiller was walking into the shop. It's been a while since I've stumbled upon (literally, in this case) a celeb, so it was fun.

When we first moved to NYC , two and a half years ago, I was searching for a job and was on a "working interview" at an after school program in the Gramercy area. When we took the kids to the gym after our program where all the parents/nannies picked up their kiddos I saw a woman across the gym with her boy that looked so familiar. Red hair, fair skin (she could have been a relative, really). I was certain I knew her from somewhere. But where??? I was racking my mind about it, ready to go up to her and say, "Where do I know you from?" The girl I had been teaching with leaned over and said, "Is that Juilanne Moore?" Ah, yes! The light bulb came on and I felt silly thinking I actually knew her from somewhere and so glad I didn't approach her. Just before then I had seen her latest movie, The Forgotten, so I was glad that she still had her son. :)

No more time....I'll have to post more of my sightings in later posts.

Uma, Ethan, Julia to name a few.

Fond Found Blogs

Isabella is napping, Brian's out getting some food, and I'm browsing the internet after a failed attempt at a nap. I found this blog, Design Mom, that I have already fallen in love with--an artistic mother of five living in New York City--that's totally my dream. She has some great stuff.

I really, really LOVE looking at all of these fun, creative blogs that people share. Recently I've had so much desire to create and be creative, but I just don't feel very good at it. Others' ideas are inspirational to me. I think I'm gradually expressing myself in little ways around the apartment. I'll take some photos and post them soon.

Here are some other blogs/sites that I found today that I want to keep my eye on:

Thanksgiving Hike

Thanksgiving in Connecticut was warm and beautiful. We all went for a hike and Brian's dad captured us enjoying the moment.

Moving Day

Before

After

We were surprised at how much stuff we were able to hide in our tiny apartment. The boxes filled all of our living space and I was packing more boxes as the movers hauled out stuff. We were literally tripping over our junk. When we got to our new place, all the stuff had been tossed into the living room but it only took up 1/4 of the room. Crazy!

In the second photo, of our new place, our boxes and such are all behind me (and the camera). In the first photo the boxes were, obviously, everywhere.

I love the space!!!

The Big Move

We finally moved! Last Thursday everything came together: babysitters, movers, boxes, etc. and all of our junk got out of Hell's Kitchen and into Harlem. I'm so grateful for the friends who took time out of their busy lives to help us with Isabella and moving boxes.

Last minute Brian decided to hire movers off of craigslist and I'm SO glad he did. We highly recommend them. They were fantastic, inexpensive, honest, and fast.
